For example, if the listing broker offers the selling broker a 3% commission, my commission on the sale of a $150,000 house would be $4,500. I would pass 25% of that commission back to you at closing, which would be $1,125. Depending on the price of the house and the commission offered, your rebate can vary. In most cases, you can count on the selling broker's commission to be about 3%. Best of all, you'll receive your rebate as a cash credit at closing, not just a reduction off the sales price or the amount you're financing.
