Low Brokerage Fees Save thousands when you list your home for sale with me. My normal brokerage fee is only 4.75% when a cooperating broker is involved, and even less (3.25%) when I find the buyer and act as an intermediary in the transaction. There are no up-front fees or reimbursable marketing expenses. No commission is paid until your home closes and you have your check in hand. The listing fee portion of the brokerage fee is only 1.75%. I give a full 3% of the brokerage fee to cooperating brokers who find a buyer for your house, and advertise that amount in the Multiple Listing Service. There are some discount brokers who keep a disproportionate share for themselves, but in doing so they reduce the incentive for other agents to show your home. The fee is based on the "true" sales price. If an accepted offer requires that you pay a portion of the buyer's closing costs, I will not base my brokerage fee on the contractual sales price.
